The SESC gallery in Madureira is located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro's North Zone, this mean, the main center of the "Bate-bola" culture. The show was not only filled with photographs, but complete outfits and masks, in collaboration with some of the groups that populate the Bate-Bola universe. Huge success of public, with more than 4000 visitors, debates and lectures.
It was the first time that this rich and little known carioca carnival street culture was presented in an art center.
"Wesh la Brèche" exhibit is the result of a one month residency and assignment on the Youth at the Centre d'Art Contemporain Photographique - Vila Pérochon of Niort, France - with the support of the City and the Region.
